This Is It: The 26 Absolute Best Beauty Products We Tried in June

By now, you’ve probably surmised that we test-drive a lot of beauty products here at Who What Wear HQ. From nail polish and makeup to hair and skincare, we’re eyebrow-deep in all things new, exciting, and wish list–worthy. That said, due to the number of products we come in contact with, we’ve also transformed into the nitpickiest of beauty consumers. Within seconds, we can tell if a new hair oil is too heavy, and we’re quick to ignore a serum that yields disappointing results. The good news? We’re far more often impressed than unimpressed after trying out a new product, and usually, we simply can’t wait to spread the word to all of our fellow beauty lovers (also known as you!). Therefore, we’ve decided gushing over our latest fave products should become a monthly ritual, and every 30 days or so, you can expect a full report detailing the highlighters, hair wands, and overnight skincare saviors we’ve quickly fallen head over heels for.For the most part, we’ll be covering buzzworthy launches, as those typically take up most of the action atop our product-filled desks, but we won’t dismiss new-to-us products, either. Sometimes, our best discoveries are found on a friend’s vanity or on someone’s face at the bar (true story). Ahead are the best beauty products we tried in June! Grab your game face and wallet—you’ll be needing both.I cannot get enough of this multitalented lip and cheek tint. And this is coming from someone who’s been saying for years, that I’ll never fully board the liquid/cream blush train! Alas, here I am, and this one has its claws in me good. A) The colors are so dreamy, and I use them all—even the deepest shade Nu Chills (a dark plum) diffuses and blends so well that it can still compliment my fair skin. B) They’re supremely buildable, C) the pigment actually lasts, and D) they just make your skin looks so naturally dewy and flushed. I wear it out (see above) for a full-face situation, but it’s also been an essential part of my summer beach uniform. I dab it on my lips and cheeks along with an SPF-infused skint tint, waterproof mascara, and some gloss. Done and done!As a rule, I despise wave sprays. Anything that makes my fine, blonde hair crunch or sticky is a very hard no for me, and I’ve never been able to stand the salty-gummy residue that most formulas leave behind. This stuff, though… this stuff is legit magic and everything I’ve been hoping and praying for her in a summer-approved wave-enhancer. (I love spritzing it through my hair, doing a quick braid, and letting my strands dry while it marinates for the ultimate low-lift mermaid texture.) It’s part of R+Co’s sustainable Bleu line, and it utilizes lots of lush ingredients like cucumber water, rose flower water, calendula flower extract, sea buckthorn seed oil, quinoa protein, and vitamin B5 to lock in volume, hydration, texture, and shine. Whenever I use it, I feel like I’m giving my strands a potent multivitamin, not just another application of hair product. Plus, obviously, it smells amazing. By now you know lip plumpers are my absolute kryptonite, and Lawless’s Forget The Filler Lip Plumper and Line Smoothing Glosses are notoriously loved amongst even the most discerning beauty editors. I love a popsicle lip moment, so the line’s newest Cherry Vanilla addition is a wish come true for me and my summer beauty ambitions. Oh, and Associate Beauty Editor Katie Berohn also told me she’s a fan: “I’ve been obsessed with the Forget the Filler glosses since their inception, but let me tell you, I’ve been waiting for one with a red tint. This is my absolute dream version of the gloss—it smooths, plumps, adds high-impact shine, and a dreamy wash of cherry red to lips. I can’t stop wearing it!”If you haven’t used a gomage gel at home, you’re doing your skincare all wrong. It’s one of the easiest and most gentle ways to remove dead skin cells without harsh chemicals or abrasion, so I suggest you hop on board. This cleanser formula is one of the top-selling products in all of Japan, and for good reason. It catches and removes dead surface skin with an activated hydrogen water formula that leaves skin looking fresh and dewy. Instant fave! Who doesn’t love an overnight lip mask? This one supports natural collagen production and will seriously make your lips look bigger and better with continued use. I like to keep mine in the fridge for an added cooling effect. I rarely wear foundation, so you know the formula has to be good when I do. This is an oil-free gel concoction that’s lightweight (it’s composed of 60% water) and made with reflective circular micro pigments that provide medium-to-full coverage and a seriously flawless finish. It goes on smoothly and most importantly leaves my skin looking like skin. I’m always looking for products that will help improve my skin barrier and this brightening moisturizer is my latest love. It feels like pure luxury. It’s rich and creamy but once it’s on your skin it feels light as a cloud. It’s full of high-grade ingredients like peptides, ceramides, and snow mushroom to help restore and protect the skin, and uses smart melanin technology to prevent the appearance of dark spots and melasma. I’ve been a fan of the Prep Set Glow Mist, so I’m not surprised that I’m smitten with this one, too. It’s a tanning mist infused with top-of-the-line tanning agents that will give you your best golden glow yet. Technically, you can use it on your body (they have a buffing brush to help get application even), but I’ve only used it on my face, neck, and décolleté. It’s perfect to spritz on during the summer for some added radiance. I plan to use it poolside over the long holiday weekend. Full confession: I lose control when liquid eye shadows are involved. I’m a sucker for makeup products that are quick and easy and these lid tints haven’t let me down. They come in so many amazing colors, like New Love, which is the prettiest taupe color that feels young and elevated, and Joy Ride, which is a stunning coppery hue that makes my eyes pop.  My hopes were high for this, as I’m a huge stan of the facial toning device, and so far, it hasn’t disappointed me! The device comes with four treatment spheres that use micro-4 technology to improve the appearance of cellulite and sagging skin via microcurrent waves. It’s supposed to stimulate ATP production which helps create collagen and elastin and energize muscles for a more sculpted and lifted look. I surprisingly love the new routine I’ve created with this: I’ve been using it on my “problem areas” for five minutes each night and I find that it’s such a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks now but I’m starting to notice a subtle change in how my legs look. I imagine as I continue to use it, I’ll notice even more changes. I’m pretty sensitive to scents, so this one took me a minute to fully embrace, but as soon as it settled I was completely on board. It is a true mix of flavors with so many interesting notes—from bergamot and pink peppercorn to Calypso orchid and Iris to sandalwood and white musk. It’s a little spicy and has major floral energy with hints of powder but ends smoothly with woodsy tones. I’m normally a no-makeup makeup look type of person. I don’t love wearing a ton of product and normally just stick to concealer for covering up blemishes and evening my skin. But this foundation actually makes me want to put on foundation. I’ve heard rave reviews about it before so I was really excited to get to try it for a story, and, boy, did it live up to the hype. It’s not too thick, smooths onto the skin easily, blends in seamlessly, and manages to make my skin look ultra glowy.Okay, so I actually don’t wear deodorant a ton because I don’t really sweat that much (if you’re a fellow Asian, you probably get it). But, of course, I’m more diligent about my deodorant-wearing in the summer months because I do get sweaty, and also I just want to smell good for the people around me. I normally opt for a drugstore deodorant stick but I had this gel on hand and decided to give it a try. I really like it! It dries quickly, doesn’t leave any weird stains, and isn’t irritating to my underarm skin. I love the fragrance-free version. This stuff has been keeping my lips ultra-hydrated the past few weeks, and I’ll definitely be purchasing another one once it runs out. I like that it’s not scented or flavored because sometimes I just can’t deal with feeling like I’m eating my lip balm.I take my beauty sleep seriously, but winding down at night can be a challenge for me. On those nights when I just can’t fall asleep no matter how tired I am, I’ve been using this CBD oil with melatonin and I’m out in about 30 minutes max. I wake up feeling so refreshed and not the least bit groggy.I am an absolute sucker for a good body serum, and this one from Leland Francis is so luxurious. It feels so silky when you apply it to your skin and leaves it feeling hydrated and supple with a little extra glow. You can even top it off with the brand’s Body Radiance Balm for a next-level summer glow.I’ve been loving Saint Jane’s new SPF. It also doubles as a hydrating primer and I love the way my makeup just glides right on after I use it. Normally, I’m an SPF 50–and-above kind of gal, but I make an exception for this one due to the nourishing ingredients like jasmine, hibiscus, and desert rose. This is now one of my favorite exfoliants on the market! It’s so gentle on my skin that it doesn’t sting or even tingle when I apply it. If you’re like me and are trying to repair a bit of skin barrier damage (oops), this might be the exfoliant for you, too. The results are incredible—I noticed a difference right away in the tone of my skin after using it. I’m a recent blush convert (better late than never), and this new offering from RMS has to be one of my new favorites. I don’t normally love powder formulas, but this one is so creamy, silky, and so pigmented. This serum is great for those with acne-prone skin, acne scars, or just hyperpigmentation. I saw results really quickly with this formula. Dark spots appeared brighter and blemishes appeared much calmer and flatter than they were before. This has become another staple in my routine. It makes my skin feel so soft. I use it as a last step in my routine and it leaves my skin looking extra luminous. I honestly don’t usually bother with lip liner because I find it annoying. This lip liner has totally changed my mind, and I’m reluctant to leave the house without it these days—I packed four of the six colors with me for a week-long trip. It’s moisturizing, has the perfect amount of glide, stays on lips really well, and gives your lips that extra oomph. The second I got my hands on this candle, I knew it would instantly eclipse all my other candles. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m unnaturally obsessed with tomatoes—I have a tattoo of one on my wrist and from July through September I basically only eat tomato toast. One of the scent notes in this candle is tomato leaf, and I think it’s the note that comes through the strongest when you light it. I’ve been lighting this candle so much that my roommate told me “this candle reminds me of you,” and that’s a high honor because it smells really, really good. Oh, and it has technology that removes unpleasant odors from the air—perfect for a teeny New York apartment.I’ve been using Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum day and night under my moisturizer and it’s been a game-changer in my skincare routine. Aside from the fact it smells divine, it’s also helped immensely with my dull complexion, uneven skin tone, and my dark spots. My skin is visibly more glowy and hydrated. So I’m annoyingly (adorably?) fussy and very much a minimalist when it comes to anything resembling makeup on my skin. My prereqs are: extremely light coverage that shows my skin and freckles, ultra-dewiness, sun protection (and not just SPF15, I want the strong stuff!) I have this delish serum in both shades one and two, and it’s giving me the best summer glow. It truly solidifies my love of all things Ilia.Like so many fashion people from New Zealand and Australia, I’m a loyal Emma Lewisham skincare convert. I was originally hooked by how many of Emma’s products are refillable, and now buy her Supernatural Crème, Skinreset, and Vitamin A Face Oil religiously. I was lucky enough to be gifted her luxe new Skinreset Eye Crème about a month ago, and love that I’ve finally found a natural product that feels so good on my skin and is actually effective. It’s a 10/10 that I’d recommend. Definitely a new staple.Next: FYI—9 Genius Tips I Learned From Studying Hailey Bieber’s Makeup Routine
